WHO WE AREJacob Schroeder founded Schroeder Electric in 1942. Since then, we have remained a small family owned business for over the past 70 years.
Shortly after graduating from the Dunwoody College of Technology, Jim acquired his Journeyman's license, by 1997 he had secured his master's license. His interest in industrial controls, building automation, and PLC's would lead him down a path working for several large mechanical contractors before returning to Schroeder Electric to write the next chapter.
In 2001, the opportunity to utilize all of his skills and experience, combined with his interest in reinvesting in the family business, would bring Schroeder Electric, Inc. to the North Shore of Lake Superior where an office was opened in Grand Marais. |
In 2007, with six years of strong business growth under the belt the failing health of a family member would change the course of Schroeder Electric, Inc. A strategic plan was laid out to close the Grand Marais office and relocate the business back to the Twin Cities. By mid 2008, an economic recession had settled in and was adversely affecting the construction market. As a result, a new business plan was developed to allow the company to adapt and meet the emerging needs of the Twin Cities metro area. This resulted in the company re-branding itself as River Pointe Technologies, Inc. in 2009, and allowed the company to focus on helping facility owners identify and resolve issues with their mechanical and electrical systems. In 2012, a new business partner and long-time family friend John Zacherl was brought on board. John's experience as a welder, coupled with his artistic talent and metal fabrication skills, added a whole new dimension to the business and allowed the company to greatly expand its capabilities and service offerings. A new shop was opened in Bloomington, MN August 2013. This central location currently provides us with convenient access to both our customers and vendors allowing us to maintain lower costs while delivering exceptional service. |
